The Phuc An Vien Cultural-Spiritual Park, phase one, was inaugurated at District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City on June 22, to serve as a new model of cemetery for the nation’s biggest city.
The over 800 billion VND (38 million USD) park covers an area of 18 hectares. It is a combination of separated functional sections, including a temple, a lake and greenery area, a crematorium, a cemetery for nearly 1,400 graves, and a storage facility for cremated ash capable of housing 100,000 ash urns.
The park is also divided into numerous zones for different religions.
The park is a part of the city’s plan to develop a system of modern cemetery to cater to the demand of citizens while improving urban landscape and environmental protection.-VNA
