Sri Lanka’s Parliament Speaker visits Quang Ninh province

Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Chamal Rajapaksa on July 16 attended a working session with the northern province of Quang Ninh’s officials and paid a visit to Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a new natural wonder.
Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Chamal Rajapaksa on July 16 attended a working session with the northern province of Quang Ninh’s officials and paid a visit to Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a new natural wonder.

The event is part of the Sri Lankan leader’s Vietnam visit at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

At the session, Do Thi Hoang, head of Quang Ninh’s group of NA deputies, briefed Rajapaksa and his entourage on the province’s natural and economic conditions and potential.

Hoang said she hopes, through the visit, the Sri Lankan guest will better understand Quang Ninh and Vietnam so as to promote friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

For his part, Rajapaksa expressed his hope that Sri Lanka and Vietnam will step up cooperation in various fields, sharing their experiences in tourism and agriculture in particular.-VNA
