Before leaving Finland, President Triet received Yrjo Hakanen, Chairman of the Communist Party of Finland, congratulating the party on its 25th congress’s success.

President Triet said in its policy of expanding diplomatic, economic and trade ties with other countries, Vietnam always attaches importance to sentiments from communist friends. He expressed his wish for the two countries’ communist parties to enhance their ties.

Chairman Yrjo Hakanen expressed his belief that the success of President Triet’s visit to Finland would help strengthen bilateral relations in the future.

He briefed President Triet on his party’s operations and ties with other communist parties in Europe.

Also on the same day, President Triet received executives of the Mint of Finland Ltd., specialising in coin making, and the Neste Oil Corporation, which trades in oil products and recycled fuels.

He hailed the Finnish economic groups’ interest in cooperating with Vietnam and spoke highly of their technologies, particularly in environmental protection.

Vietnam is willing to welcome Finnish businesses’ cooperation and investment, the President said, adding that their presence in Vietnam would help boost bilateral ties.

The Finnish business executives described Vietnam as one of the most attractive destination for investment in Asia, saying they believed in effective cooperation in Vietnam .

Leaders of the Mint of Finland expressed their willingness to assist the State Bank of Vietnam in developing a coin design and production system while Neste Oil Corporation wants to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in producing low-exhaust fuels.

Earlier on May 21, President Triet met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community living and studying in Finland./.
