At a conference to review assistance for street children project 2010 held in Hanoi on Dec. 22, Deputy Head of the MoLISA’s Children Care and Protection Department Hoang Van Tien said almost all targets of the project have been fulfilled. The project has attracted almost 15,370 children in entertainment activities to integrate into the community, he added.

The delegates also pointed out shortcomings in the implementation of the project, focusing on the lack of funding for dissemination work and vocational training.

To raise the efficiency of the project in 2011, around 6 billion VND will be used to assist children in education, healthcare, vocational training and loans and child rights clubs will continue operation to bring into play children’s rights in the community./.
