The Sudanese President made the statement while meeting with the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s Special Envoy, Deputy Foreign Minister, Doan Xuan Hung on June 23.

President Al-Bashir praised the achievements Vietnam has recorded during the cause of national defence and construction as well as in the renewal process.

He spoke highly of Vietnam’s support for Sudan at international forums, saying he hoped that the country would continue the assistance in the future.

The Sudanese President pledged to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese investors in all areas, especially oil, mining and communications.

He took the occasion to suggest Vietnam open its Embassy in Sudan and form a joint committee to further step up the cooperative relations between the two countries.

After handing over a letter of the Vietnamese Prime Minister to President Al-Bashir, Deputy Foreign Minister Hung briefed his host about outcomes of his working visit to Sudan .

Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation had a working session with the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture, during which the Sudanese Minister applauded the bilateral cooperation in agriculture over the past time with Nile river project as an example.

The minister called on Vietnam to dispatch its experts to help his country in the sector.

The delegation also joined with Sudan Business Association to organise a forum for the two countries’ businesses, during which many Sudanese enterprises said they want to work with Vietnamese partners, especially in export-import, construction, industry and services./.
