Hanoi (VNA) – The US’s foreign policy under the Donald Trump administration and its corollary was the main topic of a seminar co-organised in Hanoi on November 21 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Vietnam Initiative group.
Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of MoFA’s Department of General Economic Affairs, and Indiana University’s Professor John R. Karaagac co-chaired the event.
During the talk, participants and Professor Karaagac exchanged views on the US presidential elections, the US’s foreign policy under the Trump administration and its forecast influences on the US and global economies, the globalisation process, climate change agreements and the US monetary policy.
They also debated the US’s possible adjustments to its policies with China, Russia, Japan and the Asia-Pacific region as well as the possibility of ratifying the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP).
Prof. Karaagac is a well-known American lecturer and speaker, who has taught at Indiana University, Johns Hopskin University and other prestigious universities in the US for many years.
He is also a leading political expert and author of various famous books on the US politics and foreign policy.-VNA
