Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung recently gave the green light to pilot favourable policies that will help develop a Republic of Korea-funded technology nursery located in the O Mon industrial park in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

The facility covers 200 hectares and its construction is nearly completed. Its future operating businesses and investors will benefit greatly from the Prime Minister’s decision.

Accordingly, the establishment can import nursery materials at tariff-free prices in accordance with current laws on imports catering to scientific research and technological development.

Tax incentives, certifications and assistance for research and training activities are available to enterprises operating at the site.

Projects invested in the nursery will have zero land-leasing costs for the first five years and 50-percent reduced costs for the following five-year period. They will also be facilitated to launch promotion programmes and access bank loans from the Vietnam Development Bank.-VNA
