Tet bonuses for workers in HCM City

As many as 265 businesses in industrial and processing zones of Ho Chi Minh City have revealed bonus plans for workers on the occasion of traditional Lunar New Year 2017.

HCM City (VNA) – Asmany as 265 businesses in industrial and processing zones of Ho Chi Minh City have revealed bonus plansfor workers on the occasion of traditional Lunar New Year 2017.

The average Tet bonus for each worker indomestic and foreign direct investment (FDI) companies will be 7 million VND(307 USD) and 6.8 million VND (298 USD) respectively.

The respective highest bonus will be onebillion VND (43,920 USD) and 215 million VND (944 USD) while the lowest will be3.5 million VND (153 USD).

According to head of the labour managementdepartment under the municipal Export Processing and Industrial Zone Authority(Hepza) Nguyen Vo Minh Thu, nearly 30 businesses reported difficulties inpaying Tet bonuses for workers but pledged an equal level to the previous year.

In case, businesses could not affordbonuses, the Hepza trade union will seek supporting measures, she said.

Hepza office manager Tran Cong Khanh saidthe management board has coordinated with relevant agencies to provide assistancefor workers.

For example, trade unions at industrial andprocessing zones have raised money to buy 6,000 tickets for needy employees toenjoy Tet at home.

The city’s foundation for supportingworkers has mobilised businesses to present 1,200 train tickets to workers fromthe north and central regions for the HCM City-Hanoi and HCM City-Da Nangroutes.

Close to 100,000 gift packages worth over47 billion VND (2.06 million USD) will be granted to workers during thetraditional Lunar New Year 2017.

Businesses and retailers will holdprogrammes to sell products with reasonable prices at a number of industrialparks.-VNA

Hanoi puts 28 more electric buses into operation

The new VinFast Green Bus vehicles, manufactured in 2026, have a capacity of 60 passengers. They are equipped with low floors for easier boarding, facilities for people with disabilities, air conditioning and other modern amenities to improve passengers’ comfort and travel experience.

500-day campaign brings fallen soldiers closer to home

Information provided by local residents in Son La province helped authorities find the remains of two fallen soldiers after four days of searching. At Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City, 701 sets of remains and 304 sets of personal items have been recovered, while in Ca Mau province, more than 3,000 unidentified graves have been excavated and biological samples collected.
