Thac Ba Lake to become world-class destination

Thac Ba Lake in Yen Bai province, often called 'Halong Bay on land,' has been approved by the Prime Minister for development into an international eco-tourism and cultural hub. Spanning over 53,000 hectares, including nearly 20,000 hectares of water, the Thac Ba National Tourism Area features over 1,300 islands and ranks among Vietnam's top three largest artificial lakes.

One of the first stops when exploring Thác Bà Lake is a temple perched on the mountain, overlooking the river to the northeast.

The lake area also features a complex of limestone caves.

With its advantageous location, natural landscape, and rich local culture, Thác Bà National Tourism Area is planned to become a world-class tourism hub in the North by 2040, aiming to welcome about 4.5 million tourists annually.

With a length exceeding 80 km and surrounded by majestic limestone mountains, Thac Ba Lake was recognized as a national historical scenic spot in 1996. It is currently an emerging eco-tourism destination for holidaymakers and nature lovers.

Transforming the Thac Ba National Tourism Area into a premier destination for cultural, eco-tourism, and resort experiences is not just an aspiration of Yen Bai province but also a key objective for Vietnam's tourism sector as a whole./.
