Thai athletes compete in 2024 Paris Paralympics

Thailand’s 79 athletes are competing in 15 sports at the 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris from August 28 to September 8.

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – Thailand’s 79 athletes are competing in 15 sports at the 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris from August 28 to September 8.

The Paralympic Committee of Thailand announced that the athletes engage in table tennis, wheelchair racing, badminton, boccia, track and field, shooting, and others.

Saysunee Jana, a wheelchair fencer, and Athiwat Paeng-nuea, a wheelchair racer, led the Thai national athletes in the Place de la Concorde in Paris opening ceremony on August 18. The ceremony attracted around 6,000 athletes and staff from 184 countries and territories.

Saysunee, a veteran athlete who has competed in six Paralympic Games, has previously won two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.


The 2024 Summer Paralympics features 549 events across various sports for individuals with disabilities, with the Thai team eyeing to make a strong showing in multiple disciplines./.
