Thai locality holds fellowship cycling event with Myanmar

In Mae Sot district of Tak province, Governor Charoenrit Sanguansat has opened a fellowship cycling event between Thailand and Myanmar.

Hanoi (VNA/NNT) - In Mae Sot district of Tak province, Governor Charoenrit Sanguansat has opened a fellowship cycling event between Thailand and Myanmar, with officials from both countries and over 1,000 people participating in the event.

The event was held to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two borders on the occasion of Municipality Day and the Songkran Festival, as well as to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s birthday anniversary on April 2.

The cycling event starts at the statue of King Naresuan in front of the Mae Sot Municipality Office and travels over the Thailand-Myanmar bridge over the Moei River into Myawaddy in Myanmar.-VNA
