Thai police on high alert on possible IS terror threat
Thai police have stepped up security at crowded locations such as tourism sites, shopping centres and airports, following a warning by the US Embassy in Bangkok.

Strengthened security and tighter supervision were also required at border gates, he said.
Police said that information received from a source at the US embassy warned of a possible plot to attack shopping malls and transportation hubs in Bangkok.
The warning came only two months after secret information provided by the Russian police to Thai counterparts was disclosed. The information said that 1 0 IS fighters from Syria had arrived in Thailand to conduct terrorism attacks targeting European tourists.-VNA
