Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - Nine student teams from Thailand have won two gold, three silver and two bronze medals, and five special awards at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) 2018 in India.
The Basic Education Commission Secretary-General, Boonrux Yodpheth, revealed that the office has selected 15 students in nine teams from Thailand to compete at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors 2018 in New Delhi, India, all of which have been awarded for their inventions.
The Thai students were awarded with two gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals, and 5 special awards.
Inventions winning gold medals are bio-mucilage compound containers from Surat Pittaya School, and moisture absorber capsules made from rice paddy from Prachin Kalyani School. Inventions winning silver medals are rambutan peeler from Thairath Wittaya 19 School, which also received Special Silver Award recognition from Taiwan, ethylene absorbing and fungus growth suppressing sachet from Chulabhorn Wittayalai Phitsanulok School, and medical detector sheet applicator from Samsen Wittayalai School. Inventions winning bronze medals are pressure canned milk pourer from Khlong Dan Wittaya School, and loop-root mangrove nursery from Surat Pittaya School.
Inventions from Thai students also received special awards from this competition, namely intelligent health check-up device using cellular network from Suksanari School, medical detector sheet applicator for emergency patients from Samsen Wittayalai School, loop-root mangrove nursery from Surat Pittaya School.
IEYI 2018 was organised by the Foundation for Global Science Initiatives (FGSI), and took place on October 17-21, 2018 to showcase remarkable inventions from 6-19 years old students from around the world, and award those with excellent ideas.
The event was participated by teams from China, India, Taiwan (China), Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. - NNT/VNA
