Vietnam bagged seven gold medals and two silvers at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) c ontest held in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia , from May 9-11.
The gold medals were awarded to a smart book by Bui Quang Nhat and Trinh Ngoc Cuong in Hanoi , rescue robot LVT2 by Hoang Duy Khanh (Lang Son), smart controller v1.0 by Nguyen Kim Duong Hao ( Ho Chi Minh City ), and traffic safety model by Tran Huy Thanh and Hoang Thanh Tra (Ha Tinh).
A system to plant safe vegetables on urban house roofs by Nguyen Chau Anh and Nguyen Dang An ( Hanoi ), FAN LED by Nguyen Trong Thuy (Ha Tinh), and automatic sweeping machine by Dinh Thanh Binh in Ninh Binh province also won the highest prize.
This year’s contest attracted 47 competitors from 13 countries around the world.
The first IEYI contest was held in Japan in 2004 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation. This is an ideal playing ground for young talents in science and technology.-VNA
