Thai authorities are seeking a local woman suspected of being involved in the deadly Bangkok blast after bomb-making materials were discovered in her rented apartment, reported the Bangkok Post on August 31.

According to police spokesperson Prawuth Thavornsiri, police recently raided a flat in Min Burin district in northeast Bangkok, discovered and seized fertiliser bags, flash powder, watches and a radio-controlled toy vehicle , all of which can be utilised to make bombs and electric charges.

Prawut said police intend to issue three or four additional arrest warrants but refused to disclose further details.

The female suspect’s apartment is near to the accommodation of a foreign man arrested on August 29 on charges of owning bomb-making euquipment and fake passports. He is suspected to have supported those behind the recent bomb attack.

The bombing, which hit the Erawan shrine in a busy shopping district on August 17, took at least 20 lives, including many foreign tourists.-VNA
