Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Thai - Cambodian border economic zone in Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province is launching a campaign to increase border trade.

The Deputy Governor of Sa Kaeo recently told government officials, military personnel, police officers, and Thai business representatives at a seminar to enhance relations with neighbouring countries. The seminar was also attended by the deputy governors of Banteay Meanchey and Battambang in Cambodia.

Officials from both countries aim to collaborate in educating businesses on ways to reduce border trade barriers and develop distribution channels in both countries, in order to accommodate greater commercial activities.

The Governor of Battambang said the border trade development programme will serve connection with other economic zones in eastern Cambodia, which would enhance the stability of trade and investment programmes.
