Thailand: Investor Confidence Index for January 2018 rises
Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Federation of Thai Capital Market
Organisations (FETCO) has announced that the Investor Confidence Index
(ICI) for January 2018 has increased as the Thai economy is starting
recover.
FETCO
Representative Santi Kiranand said the ICI for January next year
increased from 162.63 to 165.77, thanks to positive signs in the export
and tourism sectors.
Recreational,
tourism, energy and infrastructure sectors are attractive to investors
whereas print media, fashion and mining industries are among the least
attractive.
Bank
of Ayudhya Executive Vice President, Somprawin Manprasert, said the
Thai economy is gradually recovering due higher domestic consumption and
tourism growth.
He added the Thai economy is likely to grow by 3.8 percent this year and 3.7 percent in 2018.-VNA
