Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha held talks with his visiting Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith in Bangkok on July 6, focusing on bilateral issues like trade promotion, labour cooperation, and cross-border tourism as well as regional connectivity and infrastructure development strategies.

The two leaders also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on labour cooperation with the aim to improve workers’ skills and protect their interests.

The Lao PM is on a two-day official visit to Thailand at the invitation of the Thai premier. It is his first visit to Thailand since he took office.

He is scheduled to travel to the northeastern Thai province of Khon Kaen to receive an honorary doctoral degree in management from Rajamangala University of Technology, and deliver a speech on Laos' development future at the university.-VNA
