Bangkok (VNA) – Thai police said on May 11 that they discovered and seized a convoy of cars carrying 10 million made-in-Myanmar meth pills and nearly half a tonne of crystal meth hidden in tea packages in Bangkok.
The drugs worth about 45 million USD were being transported along Thailand's "narcotics corridor", which cuts through the central Thai province of Ayutthaya to Bangkok and then south to Malaysia.
Earlier, police followed the convoy from Ayutthaya, a key warehousing site for drugs from Myanmar's meth production establishments.
The arrest was conducted when the convoy was arriving in Bangkok on late May 10.
The police also detained six Thai suspects who were paid to transport the drugs.-VNA
