Thailand to bid for FIFA Women’s World Cup

Thailand is preparing to bid for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as the country is highly capable and equipped with proper facilities, says the President of the Football Association of Thailand.
Thailand is preparing to bid for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as the country is highly capable and equipped with proper facilities, says the President of the Football Association of Thailand.

The President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) Worawi Makudi has revealed that it is time for Thailand to place its bid to host the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup competition. Thailand is highly capable, and possesses many stadiums in Bangkok and other provinces that are ready to serve the international competition, the president says.

This initiative will have to be further discussed with the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, and with the government prior to placing the bid, in compliance with designated regulations.

The upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup will take place in France in 2019, while the bid for the next host country for the 2023's competition will take place in early 2016.-VNA
