Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The Thai government will play host to World Soil Day activities on December 5 which coincides with the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The organisation of this year’s World Soil Day event will be supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in cooperation with Rajabhat Universities nationwide.
Rajabhat Universities will be tasked with disseminating the principles of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and following up on royally inspired projects, according to Wiwat Salyakamthorn, the deputy minister for agriculture and cooperatives.
Wiwat said His Majesty stresses the importance of his late father’s teachings and hopes to fulfill his wishes to improve the well-being of his subjects through the adoption of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
In addition, he said his ministry will seek cabinet approval for the World Soil Day event to commemorate and honor the late monarch with the establishment of soil learning centers in agricultural districts throughout the nation.-NNT/VNA
