Bangkok (VNA) – Vietnamese cuisine and culture will be nudged closerto Thai people through standout dishes introduced at the Vietnamese food week,which is underway in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event, jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, Thai VietjetAir, and Dusit Thani Hotel from July 16-22, has drawn the participation offoreign diplomats in Thailand, international friends, and the Vietnamesecommunity in the host nation.

At the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bangunderlined that Vietnamese dishes have been appraised for their nutritious andcultural values.

They are particularly favoured by international friends as Vietnamese restaurantsin foreign countries, especially Thailand, are always full of guests, he added.

He expressed his hope that the event will help Thai and international friendsunderstand more about the land and people of Vietnam through its specialdishes.

Coming to the event, visitors have chance to see how Vietnamese foods are madeand enjoy stellar art performances staged by artists from the Vietnam NationalAcademy of Music.

An exhibition showcasing art works by Vietnamese-Thai artists was organised inthe framework of the week.-VNA
