Bangkok (VNA) - Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-o-cha will promote three key agendas at the 38th and 39th ASEAN summits and related meetings on October 26-28, according to Thai Government Spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana.
PM Prayut will focus on measures to respond to the spread of and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, post-pandemic sustainable recovery, and maintaining peace and security in the region in response to geopolitical upheaval, the spokesperson said.
Thailand will express its support for a comprehensive response to the spread and impact of COVID-19, he said.
The 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits and related meetings will take place via online conference under the theme "We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper". The events are expected to see the participation of leaders or representatives of ASEAN member countries, the Secretary-General of ASEAN and leaders from ASEAN's dialogue partner countries including China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the US, Australia, India, Russia and New Zealand./.
