Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled its 2018 tourism campaign ‘the 38th Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF)’, encouraging more people to visit local destinations.
TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn today announced that the event, which is scheduled for January 17-21 at Lumphini Park in the capital, offers several highlights and signature activities from each region.
The event will be divided into ten different zones, such as an exhibition zone featuring tourist attractions that had been visited by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, a zone that showcases His Majesty the King’s teachings and a zone that promotes proper garbage disposal by offering a lucky draw for those who dispose of trash properly, in accordance with the recycling approach.
The agency is expecting that the event will attract at least 600,000, while speculating that at least 61% of that number will be inspired to visit local destinations more. Under that assumption, about 420 million baht of income will be generated for the campaign participants and local communities of these destinations, and the total domestic tourism income would reach one trillion baht.-VNA
