Bangkok (VNA) - Thailand’s exports grew 10.3 percent in February year on year, according to figures from the Thai Ministry of Commerce.

The figure was below the 17.6 percent year on year jump recorded in January.

The country earned 20.36 billion USD from exports in February, marking the 12th month in a row of export growth, mostly thanks to the country’s economic recovery and increasing demand of its traditional partners.

Export gains were led by cars and spare parts, computers and parts, rubber, plastics, gemstone and jewellery, chemicals, oil and gas, machinery and parts, electronics and agricultural products.

Thailand’s leading export markets are Russia, India, Japan, South Asia, Australia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.

The country’s imports in February rose 16 percent from a year earlier to 19.6 billion USD, resulting in a trade surplus of 808 million USD.

Thailand has imported 39.8 billion USD worth of products so far this year, up 20.1 percent year on year.-VNA
