PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was speaking at a meeting with theStanding Board of the Theoretical Council of the Communist Party ofVietnam’s Central Committee in Hanoi on March 28.

He affirmed that the Politburo and Secretariat always attachimportance to work on political theory with the view of improving theParty’s leadership.

The Party chief urged the council’s membersto research and study results obtained both domestically andinternationally to provide better practical consultancy to the Party’sPolitburo and Central Committee.

For his part, TheoreticalCouncil Vice Chairman Phung Huu Phu reported on the political scienceresearch programme for 2011-2015, which focused on the revision andsupplementation of the 1992 Constitution.

He spokeof the council’s detailed 2012 working plan, which would deal withState-owned enterprises’ role in the socialist –oriented market economy,comprehensive renewal of education for human resource training quality,science and technology development for national industrialisation andmodernisation as well as international integration.

Besides, the council would actively and directly participate in fightingagainst wrong viewpoints and correcting ambiguous perceptions in orderto contribute to thwarting hostile “peaceful evolution” schemes andactivities, Phu said.-VNA

Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.
