Hanoi (VNA) – The third ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition andExhibition is scheduled to take place in Hanoi in August as one among a series ofimportant cultural and art events in 2020, the Vietnam’s ASEAN chairmanshipyear.
The event, held every four years, aims toenhance understanding and solidarity among the ASEAN states and offers a chancefor painters in the region to meet and share their achievements, and introducetheir land, peoples and cultures to others.
Director of the Ministry of Culture, Sportsand Tourism’s Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Department Vi Kien Thanhsaid that the organising board will receive entries from now until April 19.
The competition is open to all citizens inthe 10 ASEAN states of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar,the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The entries must have been created since2017 and can include embossed prints, concave prints, flat prints, collagraphs,multidimensional prints, gum prints and digital prints.
The works should reflect the landscapes andthe human life in the ASEAN countries as well as highlight urgent and contemporaryissues relevant to the bloc’s members.
The top entries will be selected fordisplay at an exhibition which is scheduled to be held in Hanoi in August.-VNA
