Three Tibetan bears have recently been handed over to Cu Chi water park tourism site in Ho Chi Minh City for caring.

LongAn (VNA) – Three Tibetan bears have recently been handed over to CuChi water park tourism site in Ho Chi Minh City for caring.

Thebears, which weigh from 90-120kg each, were held in captivity by Dang CongThach in Tan An city of the southern province of Long An from 2005.

Theprovince’s forest management department had encouraged Thach to voluntarily handover these animals to functional agencies.

Accordingto the latest statistics from the Vietnam Forest Protection Department, thereare more than 1,200 bears being held in captivity in 430 bear farms nationwide.

Since2010, the Long An forest management department has encouraged bear farms tohand over seven captive bears.-VNA

Dong Thap receives first sarus cranes from Thailand for conservation

The six cranes, including three males and three females, are around seven months old and were bred in captivity at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo. They were flown to Vietnam and, following a mandatory quarantine period at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and now are eligible for relocation to Tram Chim for conservation and growth.

In Vietnam, a large-scale waste-to-energy facility using Japanese technology has been established in the northern province of Bac Ninh.
