Hanoi (VNA) – Three new imported cases of COVID-19 were detected on September 17, raising the national count to 1,066, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The three new patients arrived in Noi Bai airport in Hanoi on a flight from Uzbekistan on September 2 and were quarantined immediately after arrival. They were negative for SARS-CoV-2 in the first test taken on September 3 and 4, but the result of their second tests on September 15 and 16 turned positive.
On September 17, four more patients were declared to have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 940. The fatalities remain at 35.
Among patients under treatment, 14 have tested negative once, 7 negative twice and 19 negative thrice. Meanwhile, three patients are in very critical conditions.
A total 30,653 people are being quarantined across the country, with 454 at hospitals, 15,120 at designated facilities and 15,079 at home or accommodations./.
