Three Lao drug traffickers arrested in Dien Bien
The border guard force of the northern province of Dien Bien, in coordination with the security force of Muong May district in the Lao province of Phongsaly, on June 15 arrested three Lao drug traffickers, seizing 20kg of opium.

Those arrested include Som Chan, 29, from Oudomxay province; Thao A By, 23 and Thao A The, 18 from Phongsaly province.
Other seized exhibits include one car, one motorbike, 4 mobile phones and 17 million Lao kip (over 1,947 USD).
The suspects confessed that they had bought the drug in the Golden Triangle area and transported it to the border area between Dien Bien and Phongsaly to sell to a Vietnamese.
The case is under further investigation.–VNA
