Three minibus routes to be piloted in Hanoi

The Hanoi Transportation Corporation (Transerco) has recently submitted to the municipal Department of Transport a proposal to open 14 new bus routes, including the pilot of three minibus lines in the city.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi Transportation Corporation (Transerco) hasrecently submitted to the municipal Department of Transport a proposal to open14 new bus routes, including the pilot of three minibus lines in the city.

The 20-24 seat minibuses can pick up passengers in narrow streets so that theycan easily access the public transportation system.

After receiving approval from the department, Transerco will start investment inthe vehicles.

As part of efforts to meet 20-25 percent of the locals’ travel demands, thecompany has built a roadmap to enhance connectivity within public transportsystem, and expanding its presence in the city’s outskirts.

Also, it has carried out numerous measures to improve service quality.

Long distance to bus stations is the main barrier for this means of transportto be favoured by local residents. Once the issue is solved, the number ofpeople using public transport will increase, helping ease traffic congestion.-VNA

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
