Among the new patients, all Vietnamese andquarantined upon their arrival, a 46-year-old woman returned from Russia onFlight VN5062 that landed at Van Don International Airport in the northernprovince of Quang Ninh on October 16.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old woman and her8-month-old son were repatriated from Angola on Flight VN8 on October 20 andalso entered the country via the Van Don Airport.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnamcurrently stands at 1,144, including 691 domestically infected ones.
All hotbeds nationwide have been put undercontrol while the country has gone through 48 straight days without communitytransmission of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.
As many as 1,046 patients have recovered, andthe number of related deaths was still kept at 35.
Among those still under treatment, 10 havetested negative for the virus once, three others twice, and five others thrice.No patients are in critical condition at present, the treatment sub-committeenoted.
There are 13,929 people who had close contactwith confirmed cases or came from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine now,including 168 in hospitals, 12,678 in other quarantine sites, and 1,083 at homeor accommodation facilities.
The Ministry of Health warned that although allhotbeds have been brought under control, risks of COVID-19 transmission stillexist, especially when repatriation and commercial international flightsincrease, and winter and spring with favourable weather conditions for someinfectious diseases are coming./.
