Three sentenced to death for drug trafficking

They are 50-year-old Vu Son residing in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi; Giang A Khua, 27, and Hoa Dang Son, 49, both from the northern mountainous province of Son La.

The other member of the ring, Uong Thi Bo, 39, from Thuong Tin district, Hanoi, received life imprisonment.
Dang Son was arrested on September 5 last year transporting 29 cakes of heroin and a packet of methamphetamine on National Highway 6A in Chuong My district, Hanoi. Bo was accompanying him.

A further investigation reveals that in April 2012 Vu Son got acquainted with a Chinese national, who hired him to meet Khua in Moc Chau town, Son La province, and traffic heroin to the northern mountainous province of Lang Son.

The Chinese paid Vu Son 200 USD and 4 million VND (188 USD) for each cake of heroin and 10 million VND for each kilogram of synthetic drug.

Vu Son then hired Dang Son to buy heroin from Khua, paying him 4 million VND for each cake of heroin and 5 million VND for each kilogram of synthetic drug.

Between July and August last year, Vu Son purchased a total of 20 cakes of heroin, two kilograms of synthetic drugs and a short gun, which was handed over to the Chinese national in Lang Son province.

On September 3, 2012, Vu Son asked Dang Son to buy 29 cakes of heroin and 996.87 grams of synthetic drugs. Dang Son and Bo were arrested two days later.-VNA
