Thua Thien-Hue, Korean firm cooperate in smart city development

The People’s Committee of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in smart city development with the Korea Land & Housing Corp.

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – ThePeople’s Committee of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has signed amemorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in smart city development with the Korea Land & HousingCorp.

Chairmanof the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and Director of the provincialDepartment of Planning and Investment Nguyen Dai Vui represented the Vietnameselocality at the online signing ceremony on September 10. Meanwhile, GeneralDirector of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation Kim Hyun-jun was representativeof the firm.

Under the MoU, the two sides will establish cooperation in developing strategyand policy, master planning, and smart city development, focusing on implementingresearches on urban development and Chan May – Lang Co economic zone, and otherurban works, which are managed by the provincial People's Committee, towards turningthe locality into a typical smart city of Vietnam.

After the signingceremony, webinars and meetings to discuss and share necessary information in order to prepareplans and strategies for applying models and projects related to smart city development beingimplemented in Thua Thien-Hue will be organised.

The two sides will also cooperate in promoting projectson a communication smart urban area in An Van Duong new urban area, two industrialparks in the Chan May - Lang Co economic zone and a pilot smart urban area in the Vietnamese locality, andwork together on research and development projects./.

During the same period, the Hanoi Traffic Operation Centre, in coordination with bus operators, will also waive fares on subsidised bus services.
