Hanoi (VNA) – Lao Party General Secretaryand State President Thongloun Sisoulith on June 29 talked with officials,lecturers and students of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA)that has helped to train many key Party leaders of Laos.

Those who have undergone training at the academyhave become valuable human resources for the cause of national defence,construction and development in Laos, he said.

The HCMA has significantly contributed to promotingthe relationship between the two countries, the Lao leader stressed.

Thongloun Sisoulith recalled the great contributionsand sacrifices of Vietnamese soldiers and people during the Lao people’s strugglefor national liberation in the past, and suggested the two countries continueefforts in preserving and enhancing the bilateral ties.

HCMA President Nguyen Xuan Thang said, assigned bythe Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the VietnameseState, the academy admits nearly 500 Lao officials for training courses eachyear.

The HCMA will step up cooperation in the training ofofficials, managers and scientists, and increase policy consultations with Laoagencies, firstly the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration ofLaos, considering this a leading important political task in internationalcollaboration.

Accordingly, the two sides will focus on carrying outa project on studying the thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh and President KaysonePhomvihane, and another building the Lao academy’s office in Champasakprovince.

On this occasion, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) incoordination with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for ExternalRelations and the HCMA organised a photo exhibition at the academy, featuringthe great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation betweenthe two countries./.
