Hau Giang (VNA) - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on July 1 visited the special national historical site of Chuong Thien Victory in Long My district as part of his working trip to the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang in commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947-2024).

At the site, the top legislator urged the provincial authorities to continue related restoration and preservation efforts, applying digital technology to management to make it a destination for revolutionary education for future generations in the province and the region.

In the visitors’ book, the NA leader wrote that the 1973 Chuong Thien Victory is a vivid testament to the timely and sound policy of the delta’s army and people, laying a premise for the southern revolution’s shift towards the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1975 – which ended the resistance war against the US imperialists, completely liberating the South, and reunifying the country.

On the occasion, Man and his delegation presented 20 gifts to policy beneficiary families, revolution contributors, and the site's management board.

Later that day, the NA Chairman visited the base of the Party Committee of Can Tho province in Phung Hiep district. In its visitors’ book, he highlighted the site’s historical significance witnessing the implementation of important resolutions for the liberation of the province, contributing to the Great Spring Victory 1975, leading to the complete liberation of the South and national reunification and marking the beginning of a new era for the country.

Man also presented 40 gifts to policy beneficiary families, revolution contributors, and the site's management board.

On the same day, the leader visited and presented gifts to Major General Le Thanh Son, a hero of the people's armed forces and former commander of the Can Tho provincial military command.
