Tourism festival offers big discount tours, air tickets

HCM City (VNA) – Myriads of substantial discounts on tour packages as well as air tickets are available for those with wanderlust during the 2017 Ho Chi Minh CityTourism Festival, which is scheduled for March 23-26 at Le Van Tam park, District 1.

The organising board said on March 20 that 82 travel agents and companies from39 cities and provinces will join the festival, themed “Welcome Summer 2017”.

Tours and air fares with discounts from 10 percent to 70 percent will be offered by the businesses.

A representative from the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines said that theairline launches numerous special promotion programmes on the occasion, whichinclude cheap tickets for domestic routes from 299,000 VND (13.12 USD) andinternational routes from 799,000 VND (35.06 USD).

Meanwhile, Ben Thanh Tourist launched “buyone tour, get one free” programmeand a line-up of lucky draws.

According to La Quoc Khanh, Vice Director of the municipal Department ofTourism, the tourism festival will be a prestigious shopping channel, makingcontributions to stimulating the tourism market and creating opportunities for businesses to introducetheir top-quality products and services to consumers.

In addition to booths arranged for travel agents, international tourismorganisations and airlines, there are areas for tourism start-up enterprises where policies to supportstart-up businesses and the annual Startup Wheel 2017 contest will be introduced.

Highlights of the festival will be “Colors of the Northwest” programme in the opening ceremony and aceremony to honour top 100 tourism brands in the city.

A beautiful country of Vietnam and an amazing Ho Chi Minh City will be depicted through an art performance entiled “Vietnam-a wonderful journey”.

A tourism photo contest is also included in the festival.-VNA
