Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City on April 9 granted certificates for seven training programmes that meet the standards of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Quality Assurance System.

The programmes include information technology training at Natural Sciences University and International University, electronics-telecommunications and manufacturing engineering at University of Technology, Vietnamese studies at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, biotechnology and business administration at International University.

Established in 1995, AUN aims to strengthen mutual understanding among member universities through training and quality assessment programmes for mutual recognition of academic degrees.

The network has recently assessed over 40 programmes in member universities, of which the information technology programme at Natural Sciences University and the business administration programme at International University got the highest scores in the country and region.

Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City has been an official member of the AUN since 1999. It has engaged in evaluating training programmes in various fields such as social sciences and humanities, engineering, economics and technology.-VNA
