Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Vice President Tran Thanh Man had 100 percent of the vote in favour of his assignment to take over as Vice President and General Secretary of the 8th tenure (2014-2019).

The vote took place at a session convened by the VFFCC in Hanoi on April 14 to adopt the appointment of presidium posts and committee members.

According to Politburo Member and VFFCC President Nguyen Thien Nhan, Man was introduced by the Politburo to replace Vu Trong Kim whose retirement begins on October 1.

Born in 1962, Man has a doctorate in economics and is currently a member of the Party Central Committee. He is also Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee and head of the local deputy delegation.

At the function, the presidium submitted their nominations for VFFCC part-time vice presidents as well as new members of the presidium and VFFCC .

They presented 12 names, including four nominated to become presidium members.

Ha Thi Khiet, a former Party Central Committee member and Chairwoman of the committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission, and Vu Hong Khanh, Chairman of the VFFCC’s chapter in Hanoi, were appointed as part-time vice presidents.

The nominations won 100 percent of the vote. As such, the 8th VFFCC now has 386 members, including 62 presidium members, six standing board members and six part-time vice presidents.-VNA
