Hanoi (VNA) –
Lawmakers on June 10 adopted a resolution on law and ordinance buildingprogramme for 2021 and adjustments to the programme for 2020, and another on the extension of the exemptionof agricultural land use tax with a majority of votes in favor, at the ongoingninth session of the 14th National Assembly in Hanoi.

They also voted to passthe Law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on JudicialAssessment.

Earlierthe same day, legislators discussed in groups the draft revised law onVietnamese labourers working abroad under contracts, the law on international agreements,and the law revising and supplementing some articles of the law on handlingadministrative violations.

Theyalso touched upon the supplementation of charter capital for the Vietnam Bankfor Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank).

In the afternoon, the NA Standing Committee delivered a report on the personnel work.

Thelegislature will continue working as scheduled on June 11./.

Final review of preparations for 14th National Party Congress

After on-site inspections and reports from relevant units on the implementation of the assigned tasks following the preliminary review on January 13 morning, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu commended agencies and units for their strong sense of responsibility, close coordination, and timely completion of tasks.

Therefore, renewing thinking in lawmaking and institutional development, he stressed, is an objective and long-term strategic requirement. This means a decisive shift from the mindset of “making laws to manage” toward “legislation that creates development,” with the focus on establishing a transparent and stable legal framework that enables effective governance, encourages innovation, liberates productive forces, and mobilises all social resources.
