Hanoi (VNA) - The Thanh Nien NewspaperInternational U21 Football Tournament will run in the Mekong Delta city of CanTho from December 12-22.

The annual event will feature five teams,namely defending champions U21 Yokohama of Japan, U21 Thailand, U21 Myanmar,U21 Vietnam and U19 Vietnam.

Teams will compete in a round robin format,with the two best teams entering the final.

The winner will walk away with 700 million VND(30,000 USD).

According to the Vietnam FootballFederation, a strong Vietnamese U21 side will be selected, with many playerswho competed in the U20 World Cup early this year.

U21 Vietnam will meet Thailand in theopening match on December 12, then U19 Vietnam face Yokohama two days later.-VNA
