At a meeting with VietnameseDeputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung in Hanoi on April 26, Lynch also spoke highlyof Vietnam’s role in the Bali Process on people smuggling, trafficking inpersons and related transnational crime, and pledged to continue cooperating withthe country in areas of mutual interest.
Deputy FM Dung appreciatedthe UNHCR’s cooperation in the past time and thanked the agency for itspositive assessment of Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in addressing theissue of statelessness.
He called on the UNHCR tocontinue providing administrative and technical support for Vietnam tosuccessful organise the 14th Meeting of the Ad Hoc Group SeniorOfficials of the Bali Process and to implement the Global Compact on Refugees(GCR) according to Vietnam’s conditions and means.
The two sides valuedbilateral cooperation in the recent time regarding reducing stateless people,approving and implementing the GCR, and Vietnam’s hosting the 14th Meetingof the Ad Hoc Group Senior Officials of the Bali Process in July this year.-VNA
