Urbanisation in Binh Dinh central province to reach 48.6 percent by 2035

Binh Dinh province in the south central coastal region will achieve an urbanization rate of 48.6 percent by 2035 as projected by the province’s construction master plan to 2035, which was made public on April 8.

Binh Dinh (VNA) – BinhDinh province in the south central coastal region will achieve an urbanizationrate of 48.6 percent by 2035 as projected by the province’s construction masterplan to 2035, which was made public on April 8 following the Prime Minister’sapproval.

Accordingly, the province willhave 22 cities by 2035, with Quy Nhon envisioned to become a first-class cityand a national marine economic hub.

Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Ho Quoc Dung said the master plan will create conditions for BinhDinh to develop its urban areas, marine economy and services-tourism towardssustainable development.

Deputy Minister of ConstructionPhan Thi My Linh said the master plan defines a new vision and developmentstrategies for the region, towards establishing Binh Dinh’s position as animportant transport hub of the south central region and a gateway to the EastSea of the Tay Nguyen Central Highlands, the southern region of Laos and the northeasternregion of Cambodia.

Under the master plan, eighturban areas will be formed from now to 2035, bringing the urban population inthe city to 930,000 out of the province’s total population of 1.91 million.

The master plan divide Binh Dinhinto two economic sub-regions, one of which is dedicated to industry, seaports, logistics and cultural tourism, covering Quy Nhon city, An Nhon town,and the districts Tuy Phuoc, Van Canh, Phu Cat, Tay Son and Vinh Thanh.

The other sub-region, comprisingHoai Nhon, Phu My, An Lao and Hoai An districts, will be designated for agricultureand hi-tech processing, along with marine economy and eco-tourism.-VNA

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year
