US-DPRK Summit: Free buses arranged for reporters

The Hanoi Transport Management and Operation Centre has requested local bus operators to offer free transport between February 25 and March 2 to domestic and foreign reporters serving the upcoming summit between Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the United States.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi Transport Managementand Operation Centre has requested local bus operators to offer free transport betweenFebruary 25 and March 2 to domestic and foreign reporters serving the upcomingsummit between Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the United States.

Accordingly, all local bus routes will be adjusted to cross nearthe summit’s venue to facilitate the reporters, who are permitted to cover theevent.

The routes will also be changed to ensure security aroundthe destinations accommodating Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and theState Affairs Commission of the DPRK Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump.     

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport has sent a dispatchasking the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, Hanoi Department of Transport,Vietnam Automobile Transportation Association, and Hanoi Taxi Association tointensify public transport management during the period.

Regular inspections and strict punishments for violationshave also been assigned to competent agencies.

The second DPRK-USA Summit is set to take place in thecapital city of Hanoi on February 27 and 28.–VNA
