US President Barack Obama is set to hold talks with his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo on October 26.

The White House said the two leaders will talk about cooperation in economics, trade, investment, emission cut, anti-terrorism, digital technology application, and navigation security.

Trade between the US and Indonesia reached 28 billion USD last year, which is said not to match their potential as the biggest economies in world and Southeast Asia, respectively.

Regarding the cut of green-house gas emission, Indonesia has pledged a 29 percent reduction by 2030 and it could raise the cut to 41 percent if the country can gets billions of USD in foreign aid.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Pandjatan told the press prior to the visit that navigation security and defence relations will also top the agenda during the two leaders’ discussion.

He told reporters on October 23 that the US is expected to help Jakarta develop capacity of coast guard.

During the five-day official visit to the US, President Joko Widoko is scheduled to meet with leaders of US groups and companies, and visit Silicon Valley to call for investment.-VNA
