Illustrative image (Photo: VNA) The preliminary determination is initially due to bereleased no later than September 28, but now delayed by 50 days to no laterthan November 17 upon the request of US producers of raw honey, according to theMinistry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).
On May 11, the DOC initiated the anti-dumping duty investigationsafter receiving petitions concerning imports of raw honey from the fiveexporters filed on behalf of the American Honey Producers Association and theSioux Honey Association, which are trade associations representing US producersof raw honey.
The petitioners, however, submitted a request for thepostponement earlier this month, stating that they concern that the DOC mayneed more time to issue supplemental questionnaires to address deficiencies inthe respondents’ initial questionnaire responses, and to determine the cost ofproduction methodology that it will rely on for these investigations.
It is the first time Vietnam’s raw honey has faced ananti-dumping probe.
The TRAV has recommended concerned Vietnamese producersand exporters to keep a close watch on the case, cooperate with the DOC, andactively contact the TRAV for timely support./.
