Washington DC (VNA) – The US has opened a 2-million-USD tender to help clear unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Cambodia.
The move was made several weeks after Cambodia said the US funding activities for clearing war-left bombs stopped.
The US Embassy in Cambodia announced in a statement that applications are now being accepted for a 2 million USD, one-year grant to survey and clear UXO in eastern Cambodia.
US Ambassador to Cambodia William Heidt said that the US has supported humanitarian demining in Cambodia for over 20 years and is committed to addressing war-time legacy.
The country is searching for best national and international experts to help remove UXO, he added.-VNA
