Hanoi (VNA) -
The Vietnam Business Summit2020, themed “Digitalised Vietnam:Adaptability Towards Sustainable Development”, is to take place onNovember 12, a press conference in Hanoi on July 22 heard.

The summit is among a series of events to be hosted bythe Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) as Chair of the ASEANBusiness Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) in 2020.

“This will be an opportunity for investors to studyVietnam’s economic outlook amid COVID-19 and determine the potential for cooperationin economic sectors that are strengths of Vietnam in the context of globaleconomic uncertainties, such as logistics, agriculture, and IT services,” saidVCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc.

Following that summit will be the ASEAN Business andInvestment Summit (ASEAN BIS 2020), slated for November 13 and 14 and the most-anticipatedevent for the ASEAN business community.

Themed “Digital ASEAN:Sustainability and Inclusiveness”, it isexpected to see the attendance of senior leaders from ten ASEAN membercountries as well as eight ASEANdialogue partners.

ASEAN ABIS 2020 will focuson six topics, including ASEAN’s economic outlook, technologies and future jobsin ASEAN, innovative agriculture, green growth through good governance;logistics and smart cities; and innovative ASEAN and digital startups.

The VBS and ASEAN BIS 2020 will help enterprises seekcooperative opportunities and learn of new trends in order to adopt suitabledevelopment strategies, Loc said.

Moreover, the ASEAN Business Awards 2020 (ABA 2020) werelaunched in July and will honour ASEAN businesses that have made outstandingcontributions to regional development.

Organisers will receive registrations and conduct assessmentsfrom August to October and then announce the winners in November.

ASEAN BAC Vietnam and VCCI will also coordinate with theVietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to implement the “ASEAN Networkof Digital Startups - Digital STARS 2020” project, which aims to form a networkof digital startups in ASEAN and therefore promote digitalisation, especiallyamong micro, small and medium-sized enterprises - the driving force of theregional economy./.

Hanoi targets 30,000 new enterprises in 2025

By the end of 2024, the number of registered enterprises in the capital city reached over 400,000, with about 220,000 operating. Notably, more than 98% of the operating firms are SMEs which create jobs for 55.1% of the local workforce and contribute over 40% of the city’s gross domestic product (GDP).

TH Group inaugurates large-scale dairy processing plant in Russia

The plant has a total capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day, with the first phase producing 500 tonnes daily. All milk used at the plant is sourced from TH’s high-tech farms in the Moscow and Kaluga oblasts. TH milk boasts a high nutritional profile, with a fat content of 4.0% and protein at 3.2% — among the highest quality levels in Russia.
