Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Competition Authority (VCA), under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said it would supervise the slowing down of older iPhones taking into account the interest of Vietnamese customers.
The international and domestic media recently reported that Apple Inc., headquartered in California, the United States, was planning to slow down older iPhones (ranging from iPhone 7 Plus to iPhone SE) after operating system updates.
VCA gave some recommendations to customers on using these products. It suggested customers to contact Apple’s stores, dealers or authorised resellers in Vietnam for information, product checkups and solutions.
Consumers were recommended to contact provincial and municipal departments of industry and trade, or consumer protection associations for policy and law consultations, or VCA by calling 18006838.
Customers may also file a petition directly on the website, http://bvntd.vca.gov.vn/SitePages/Home.aspx, or to the VCA office at 25, Ngo Quyen Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. - VNA
