
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Central Committee has called forall organisations, agencies and community join hands in supporting peoplesuffering from recent floods in northern and central localities.
On October 16, the VFFreceived 502 million VND (22,098 USD) from the Voice of Vietnam and 300 millionVND (13,206 USD) from the Ministries of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The campaign has alsobeen responded by many other central agencies, including the Communist Party ofVietnam Central Committee’s Economic Commission, Commission for InternalAffairs, and Commission for Information and Education.
Statistics show that 102people were killed and reported missing by heavy rains and floods in northernmountainous and central localities. The disaster destroyed 198 houses, submergedover 30,000 other houses and affected a large area of crop.-VNA
